rooms

The hotel has only 13 bedrooms simply furnished, the common areas are decorated with memories of the family and the island, and almost every room has a terrace overlooking the sea and the nature around.
You can stay in the bungalows or in the original villa where you will find common areas such as, the office, the sitting rooms, a small but well equipped library and the dining area where dinner is served in the evening. All the bedrooms are different and the affectionate guests return year after year to their own bedrooms.

activities

Peace, sun and clear sea water are the main characteristic of the Hermitage but there is the possibility for the guests to enjoy other activities such as trekking visits to the 3 Giglio villages or the near island of Giannutri, canoeing, bowling, table tennis or relaxing in the Thalassotherapy baths, while ceramic, yoga and cooking courses might be organized at request.

animals and vegetable garden

The animals at the Hermitage are like an extended family. Besides the friendly house dog Lou, and the large population of half wild cats, there are still donkeys which only 50 years ago were the only mean of transportation for villagers on the steep paths of the island and by us once used to carry the guests luggage and the supplies from the Porticciolo to the villa upstairs.
Then like in a normal farm you will find pigs, hens and goats. With the goat milk we make a wonderful "caprino" cheese, yogurt and ricotta for breakfast.
If you take a walk in the farm in the early morning to enjoy the first light of sunrise you will find out that the animals have the best view over the sea and Cala degli Alberi. But soon you will hear their voices asking for freedom and food. In their way they ask the guardian to open their enclosures and scatter in the wild part of the island. At sunset like good fellows they will be back by themselves to their stables.
